TOPAZ(THE MINERAL TOPAZ)
Topaz is a common gemstone that has been used for centuries in jewelry. Its golden brown to yellow color is classic but is confused with the less valuable citrine, which is sold under the name topaz. The blue topaz that is often confused with aquamarine is rarely natural and is produced by irradiating and then heating clear crystals. Topaz is the November Birthstone
The structure of Topaz is controlled by a chain like structure of connected irregular octahedrons. These octahedrons have an aluminum in the middle surrounded by four oxygens. Above and below the aluminum are the hydroxide or fluoride ions. The chains of octahedrons are held together by individual silicate tetrahedrons but it is the octahedron chains that give topaz its crystalline shape.
Topaz is the hardest silicate mineral and one of the hardest minerals in nature.
Topaz crystals can reach the incredible size of several hundred pounds. Topaz can make very attractive mineral specimens due to their high luster, nice colors and well formed and multifaceted crystals.

The National Champion
On the 13th day of September 2010 is the moment were all cebuano’s had been waiting for, because it was the game 5 of the deciding match between M Lhuillier Kwarta Padala Cebu Niños against the hardest rival MisOr Meteors in the best-of-five series to the first ever championship of the Tournament of the Philippines held at the Cebu Coliseum. The team was supported by the team owner Señorito Michel Lhuillier together with his son Michael Lhuillier, daughter in law Joanna Lhuillier and grand son Michael James Lhuillier who were also present during the game. The team led by head coach Raul “Yayoy” Alcoseba that survive to a highly physical and emotional encounter with their never-say-die spirit on the game that come-up to the final score of 78-76. The team celebrates this historic victory together with the crowd that could reach up to 8,000 cebuano’s basketball fanatic.

ML drawing class to street children...

M. Lhuillier Philippines together with the OPEC Norte officers headed by Julius Barriga, conducted a drawing class for the street children that was held daily from May 3 to 28, 2010 in Barangay Lumapad, Mandaue City, Cebu.
The program called “Developing Children thru Basic Drawing Education” was aimed to develop the drawing skills of the children and encourage them to continue going to school. ML also looking forward that thru this program we can minimize the number of street children.
The ML OPEC Norte hired a drawing instructor to facilitate the drawing class attended by at least twenty-five street children. The children were also provided with drawing materials such as pencils, pencil cases, bags, drawing books and crayons. They were also given snacks after every session.
M. Lhuillier believed that these children should enjoy their childhood by studying and playing with fellow children at school not on the street.
